Katherine Heigl: Adopted another pet!

Katherine Heigl is the 30-year-old Grey Anatomy actress. She visited the Los Angeles Department of Animal Care & Control on Monday, 26th January) in LA, California.
She made the appearance there to promote pet adoption. Both Heigl and her husband Josh Kelley already live with 5 dogs and just recently brought home another puppy!
Paris Hilton: Adopted a Chi Wawa!

Paris Hilton adopted a Chihuahua from The Animal Foundation shelter in Las Vegas. She gave home to the Chihuahua which she adopted on Wednesday 15th December 2010.
Paris Hilton retweeted a message posted by The Animal Foundation shelter on her twitter page. It read 'RT @animalfndlv: @ParisHilton helps shelter animals. Adopts a 3yo Chihuahua from Vegas. (sic)’
She urges her fans to adopt rather than buy. Tweeting: ‘This Christmas if your thinking of getting a dog or cat, get one at your local animal shelter. Save a Life. Don’t Shop, Adopt. (sic)’
Her new pet would be joining her menagerie of other animals which includes, other dogs, a hamster and a miniature pig.
Oprah Winfrey: Adopted a Cocker Spaniel puppy!

In accordance to USmagazine.com, Oprah Winfrey adopted an 8 week-old cocker spaniel (blonde coloured). It was one pup of a litter of six. She was named Amanda either by the shelter staff or Winfrey (the shelter rep was unsure who named her).
This is great news for pet adoption advocates (like us!) Oprah promised, on one of her episodes, her next dog would come from a shelter. The episode also showed the horrors of puppy mills.
In addition, in honor of her late cocker spaniel, Sophie, she donated to PAWS Chicago. She also aired a show recently about Yorkies who were rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri. Her website has a photo gallery which contains her employees’ rescued pets.
